Lately, a new corporate implant center has been heavily marketing 24 hour permanent teeth around the country. Any serious medical decision should be made with risk and benefit in mind. Did you know there are serious health risks, esthetic and functional compromises and No real benefit with 24 hour permanent teeth?

Benefit Risk
Speed Catastrophic Failure
Fewer Appointments No Chance to Test Drive
Rushed Set of Teeth Inflammation, Bone Loss, Implant Failure
  1. Speed vs. Catastrophic Failure

Would you build a brick house on concrete that hasn’t set yet?

Getting your permanent teeth in 24 hours is FASTER than waiting 3 months. However, you still can’t chew solid food for 3 months with 24-hour permanent teeth, just like our 1-hour temporary 3D-printed teeth.

    0-3 months Soft Soft
    After 3 months Normal Normal

1-hr 3D Printed Temporary teeth are just as beautiful and functional as 24-hour permanent teeth. There are ZERO advantages of SPEED to Permanent Teeth other than having them in your mouth sooner.

What are the risks of SPEED to 24-hour Permanent Teeth?

Implant stability dips in the first month and increases to month 3. Permanent teeth are more rigid, stronger, and heavier than temporary teeth.

Installing permanent teeth in 24 hours is like building a brick house before the concrete foundation is set. This increases the chances of Catastrophic Failure where ALL implants don’t stick to bone and cause irreversible damage to your jawbone. You can pour concrete again, but you can’t always build back your jawbone. This could mean you could lose your jawbone and need cheekbone (zygoma) implants, or not even be a candidate for implants anymore.

  2. Fewer Appointments vs. No Chance to Test Drive

Would you buy a non-refundable custom car without a Test Drive?

24-Hour Permanent Teeth need fewer appointments, however you are giving up the chance to test drive them. 24 hours after surgery and sedation, you are still under the influence of sedation medication and numb and swollen – you can’t possibly evaluate teeth size, shape, color, and position for proper speech and chewing. Even shoes have to be worn in order to find comfort. Why give up the chance to test drive your new teeth?

  3. Inflammatory & Rushed Teeth vs. Well-Fitting, Tissue-Friendly Teeth

Multiple studies show polished zirconia is the Most Tissue-Friendly material in dentistry, helping gum stay healthy and preserve bone around dental implants. Glazed porcelain is the most inflammatory material, causing bone loss around dental implants.

Rushed 24-Hour Zirconia Teeth Staged Zirconia Teeth
    Well-Fitting No Yes
    Inflammatory Yes No
    Bone Loss Yes No

When permanent teeth are made in 24 hours, there is no way to predict how much your gums will shrink in the first 3 months. The new corporate dental implant center claims that if 24-Hour Permanent teeth develop gaps (and you will develop gaps), they do a simple fix afterward. However, there is no way to ADD zirconia (the best material for gums) to any previously made teeth. The only way to fix and close the gap is to bake glazed porcelain onto the 24-Hour teeth. This causes strong inflammation of gums and bone loss over time, which is non-reversible and can cause complications leading to failure of implants and loss of teeth.

We make well-fitting 3D-printed temporary teeth in 1 hour, and after gum and bone have healed, we make the final zirconia teeth with polished surfaces touching the gums. This process ensures long-term gum health and implant success.

There is no reason to rush the process and risk catastrophic failure, pay for a custom set of teeth you can’t refund without a test drive, and cause inflammation for your teeth forever. The only reason corporate dentistry is pushing this method is to make more money by denying you the chance to have the best chance to heal uneventfully, make changes to have comfortable and satisfactory teeth, and have the most gum-friendly set of teeth. Please do not be fooled by claims of 24-Hour Permanent Teeth and make the right decision for your body.
