If you have a broken or infected front tooth replace, the best thing to do in most cases is to replace it with an implant and a temporary tooth the same day. This is because the gum that surrounds the tooth is supported by the front tooth.
The gums give the frame to the front teeth to look like a tooth, and without it, we often lose symmetry and esthetics. Once the front tooth is gone, even with bone grafting the gum immediately starts collapsing and is almost impossible to recover.
However, if an implant and a temporary tooth is placed the same day, this prevents the collapsing of gums, and you never have to wear removable teeth!
